Baby swap?

She has discovered pens, and the fun that they are:( If she has a pen, she colors on everything! This is the most recent. So, Brian and I are wondering..........did we end up with one of Nate's kids on accident?

The never ending project

I started this hat for Kennedy early November. I have not crochet anything in probably 10 years. And it was my first time following a pattern and doing more than just a single crochet:) It has been a long month of learning, taking out, and redoing. But the never ending project is finally finished. Thank goodness! Thank you Mary for the hours of sitting and re-explaining over and over:)

A Christmas Miracle!

She can walk!

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Nov. 15th Jack turned 4! He was so excited. Unfortunately it was a Sunday. Not just any Sunday, but primary program Sunday. He had to sit still for 3 hours instead of just 2. Torture I am sure. He completely rebelled. He never stood up to sing. He even tried to get up and leave a few times :) But he gladly got up to say his part, loudly!
I know this is not a typical birthday cake for me, but the boy just wanted his cake "painted green". So I did.

A funny little conversation.

On monday evening(my birthday) Sheridan wanted to make up a birthday game for all of us to play. Some time later she comes and finds me;

Sheridan: "What is your most favorite thing?"
Me:(thinking for a minute) "Uh.............NAPS!"
Sheridan: (an exasperated look, then) "We can't play pin the mom on the bed!"
Me:(laugh pretty hard)

We ended up coming up with "pin the birthday hat on the girl". It was cute. And we even made Brian play:)

Happy Birthday to ME!

I want to thank my wonderful sisters(in-law) for coming to lunch with me today. We went to Bajio and it was spectacular. And not to get to mushy, but it really did mean a lot to me that you guys came. Thank you! Smooches!
So, I turn 33 today! Ouch, huh? Its ok. I am fine with it:) And since MY husband would never post anything nice about me on my birthday, I will do it for him:) This is what Brian loves about me:
K-kreative:)
E-endearing
R-radiant
S-sexy
T-treasure
I-ingenious
N-naughty
And I think I am suppose to also come up with 33 reasons why he loves me. But come on. I cant come up with 33 good things about myself! There is no way he would. So we will leave it at that. So................
Happy birthday self. You are the best!

A Hallo-week of fun!

Posted by Picasa
It started with our traditional Bishop FHE pumpkin carving. Then trunk-or-treat with Grandma Jackson. School parties, of course on different days. Sheridan was invited to 2 birthday/halloween parties (on the same day). And ended with trick-or-treating and making cookies.
I love Halloween. I love how excited my kids get about their costumes. Especially when I made them:) This year Sheridan was a Geisha. Madelynn was a bat. Jackson was Darth Vader (I did not have to make that one, thankfully). And Kennedy was a monkey. (I made it for Madelynn when she was a baby, and she hated it. She cried. Kennedy LOVED it! She completely spazzed out, and thought it was funny to have it on. Go figure)

Aren't we just adorable!?!

Here is our new family picture! Yipee, it is done and we dont have to worry about it for another year:) I hate picture time. It is very stressful for me. I get snappy and irritable. I know, your thinking "Kerstin? No way!" But yes, it is true.
Thanks to Jesse, again. For another great picture. You're the best!

URRRGGG, SCHOOL!

I know some mothers rejoice at back to school time. I am not one of those mothers:( I hated school when I was a kid, and I hate school just as much now that I have kids that go. Don't get me wrong. There are some nice things about it. Some things I do enjoy. But there is just this ease about summer. Wake up, whenever. Do, whatever. Eat, whenever. Get dressed, maybe:) Then school starts! And it just makes me so mad. It is the end to my laziness:( And I don't like that.
Poor me, right?
But, just so you know I am not a complete looser. I worry about my kids like crazy when they start school. Are they happy, or are they sad. Are the other kids being nice to them. Are they scared. Or are they completely fine. All these questions I torture myself with all day long. Eventually it passes as the first few days are past and I know they are going to be fine. And of course they were fine. They all love their teachers. Everyone is happy. And everyone is excited to be back in school.
(except mom in the mornings) :)

Whats next?

There is no question that Madelynn has been an animal lover from the beginning. It wasnt until recently that we realized that love was not limited to fuzzy, cuddly "animals". As soon as the weather turned warm this year she wanted her dad:) to help her catch bugs. She wanted to keep them. And take care of them. As pets! So they would catch "something", and research it. Find out what to feed it. How to take care of it, etc. She would then keep it for a week of two. And then we would let it go.
So far we have had lady bugs, catapillars, a centepede, 50+ worms (those were my favorite because we didnt have to do anything with them. They just sat in a jar) and a praying mantis.
The new latest and greatest? 12 snails!

She found them while we were on a walk. Brian carried them home for her. And she has been taking care of them ever since. She feeds them. "Moists" them. Cleans out their home. She has done a very good job. We have been very impressed.
It has been 4ish weeks and she still loves them. How weird is that? Snails!

Happy Birthday Kennedy!

Kennedy turned one July 5th. She had two parties. One with grandma and grandpa Jackson. And one with grandma and grandpa Bishop. She loved her cake, but quickly dumped it to lick the frosting off her plate.

We are so proud of our little girl. Exactly one week before her birthday she decided to crawl. She is so lazy! I mean content:) Lets now hope that she decides to be ambitious enough to walk before she goes into nursery:) Pray with us. It is going to take a miracle!

Happy Birthday, Sheridan!

Sheridan turned nine on June 17th.

She had a Hannah Montana themed party with her favorite girlfriends.  They got a make-over, and did some girlie crafts like decorating totes and sunglasses.  There was music blaring the entire time.  And of course a lot of singing and dancing.  I (Kerstin) even taught them the Hoe Down, Throw Down.  (For those of you that know what that is, it was not as easy to learn as I had thought. ha ha)  Later that night Grandparents came over for cake and ice cream.  It was a very good day.  Maybe even the best day of her entire life:)

"One green shirt"

Its that time of year. And Jackson needed some new t-shirts. He was so excited to go to the store with me. All he could talk about was getting a green shirt. So, there we are in the store. He immediately found the perfect green shirt and was ecstatic, and also done. He got his "one green shirt". He was ready to go. It didn't matter what kind of other shirts I showed him. Dragons, puppies, balls, dinosaurs. His reply every time was, "No tank you. One green shirt."
So here is how it goes. He wears the green shirt one day. Then to bed that night. And then he BEGS to keep it on the next day. (Can you see the goo on his shirt? We are on day #2!)

Sheridan

Sheridan is 8 yrs old. She is the oldest of our family. And definately the princess. She loves everything and anything pink, flashy, and sparkly. She loves to wear dresses and skirts, no matter what we are doing. She loves attention and being in the spotlight. We picked "Gumballs" for Sheridan because of the colors, and the little bit of frill. And it is definately "girly" for our girly-girl.

Kennedy

Kennedy is 9 mo. old. She loves playing with her brother and sisters. She is so laid back and easy going. She never cries. She never gets mad. She is heaven sent with the cutest smile, and laugh. That is why I think Watermelon Summer would be the perfect dress for her. Relaxed, go with the flow. But still super cute to draw some attention.

Julie Is Awesome

I am so glad Julie set up my blog for me. Perhaps I will figure out how to do this now :)
